Forest School

Forest School is a child-centred inspirational learning process, that offers opportunities for holistic growth through regular sessions. It is a long-term program that supports play, exploration and supported risk taking. This fosters resilience, confidence, creativity and independence in each participant along with developing skills and a positive relationship with the natural environment.
Forest School activities can include things such as den building, fire lighting, campfire cooking, natural arts and crafts along with games and opportunities for play and exploration. Activities are learner led with the support of the Forest School leader and assisting staff.

North West Kent Countryside Partnership is able to offer various Forest School services to schools; whether they are interested in creating their own Forest School area and need advice and help making it or would like us to come and deliver a Forest School programme for them. Please contact Stephanie if you are interested in developing Forest School in your school.
