Compliance Status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.

Accessibility Statement not up to date. It should comply with version WCAG 2.2 AA but currently complies with version WCAG 2.1 AA. Accessibility statement has now been updated to correct version 07/01/2025

Search button not fit for purpose. It doesn’t perform any action when clicked. It also doesn’t have any accessible text associated with it. Also button not fully visible in Edge. Search button has been removed from website 08/01/2025

8 pictures on the Home page don’t have accessibility text associated with them.

Focus is not always visible and sometimes difficult to spot when using the keyboard to navigate.

Multiple images don’t have an alt-text visible.

“Click to go back” doesn’t work on either Edge or Chrome

Links aren’t named and appear as a whole URL and as a result all characters are read by the screen read. All links have now be corrected to show a name rather than a whole URL 13/11/2024

“Share this page” not implemented but appears on the website.

Contrast not good enough for each link (4.34:1).

Incorrect image orientation, turned by 90° Image appears to be correct orientation when viewed on edge browser. Checked 13/11/2024 and again on 07/01/2025

Missing first level heading

Element “search button” should not be focusable within the subtree of an element with an ‘aria-hidden’ attribute with value ‘true’

Like Us on Facebook’ doesn’t inform in advance the user if the input action will open a new window or change their context.

Video is exempt from needing captions or a transcript as it was published before 23th Sept 2020. According to report no action needed.

Underlines almost universally indicates linked text. Underlines have been removed from text where links are not present 13/11/2024

Documents and PDFs

The accessibility regulations do not require us to fix PDFs or other documents published before 23rd September 2018 if they’re not essential to providing our services.

We will be ensuring that any newly published content is accessible and are working to either fix accessibility issues with existing documents that have been published since 23rd September 2018 or provide an accessible alternative.

Videos

The accessibility regulations do not apply to video content published before 23rd September 2020. All video content published from 23rd September 2020 will meet accessibility requirements and we are working to make older video content accessible where possible.
