Parties for the Planet FAQs

Parties for the Planet – FAQs

How much does a birthday party cost?

  • Inclusive of party activity, room hire and catering (Lullingstone, Shorne and Trosley Country Parks)

Parties for the Planet are priced at £25 per child, with a minimum booking of 12 children (or £300) required and a maximum of 20 children. Numbers include the birthday child.

Included in this price is a 1.5 hour activity, led by an experienced ranger; a delicious party tea provided by the Country Park catering team, a party gift for all your guests and use of the room for two hours.

  • Inclusive of party activity and room hire only (Lullingstone, Shorne and Trosley Country Parks)

If you’d prefer to cater the party yourself the price per child is £20, again with a minimum booking of 12 children (or £240). Included in this price is the 1.5 hour activity, led by an experienced ranger; a party gift for all your guests and use of the room for two hours.

  • Manor Country Park

As there is no indoor space available for hire at Manor Country Park we are able to offer our parties at a lower cost, at a price of so £18 per child without party tea, or £23 per child with party tea included.

For larger groups please contact us to discuss as we may be able to accommodate you depending on the activity.

What age range are Parties for the Planet suitable for?

Our parties are most suitable for 5 – 12 year olds. If you would like to organise a party for younger children do get in touch, as we can offer activities that are more suitable for under-fives.

How many adults need to be present to help supervise the party?

Parties for the Planet will provide an Activity Ranger to lead the party activity. We ask that a minimum of 2 additional supervising parents/helpers accompany us on our activities for all parties. For larger groups we may request one or two additional helpers – this will be arranged on booking.

Where can we go/what can we do if the weather is bad?

The room (undecorated) is included in the price and is your space for the duration of the 2 hour party. You can decorate the room however no pins or tape can be used on the walls.  We do take the party guests out for their chosen activity whether it is rain or shine unless the weather conditions (such as extremely high wind) make it a hazard for us to do so. In the very unlikely event that weather conditions prevent the guests from going outside for their activity a suitable indoor alternative will be offered and discussed with you prior to the start of the party.

How long does the birthday party last?

The party lasts for 2 hours. 1.5 hour of this time is ranger led.  The children are your responsibility for the remainder of the time of the party, but your ranger will be available if you need anything during this time. The time remaining is spent eating the party tea in the room.

Is car parking included?

Car parking is only included for the birthday party host.  Please register the party host vehicle registration with reception.  Please advise parents that are dropping their children off they are allowed to stay for 20 minutes with no charge.  If other guests are staying for the duration they must abide by the pay and display regulations.

What kind of activities are on offer?

Party themes vary depending on the site – please look at the web page for the Country Park of your choice for the list of parties on offer. Examples of parties on offer are as follows:

Birthday party gifts

An eco-friendly birthday party gift, appropriate to the theme of the party, is included as part of the package for your guests to take home.

What clothing should I advise the party guests to wear?

We advise that old clothes are worn for all activities.  We advise that long hair is tied back and tight clothing is worn when participating in the campfire cooking activity. As all activities take place outside suitable outdoor clothing and footwear should be worn by all participants at all times. Advice on clothing for specific times of the year and activities will be available on request from the contact organising your party.

Do you provide invitations?

We can provide you with an electronic copy of our Parties for the Planet birthday party invitation on request or this can be downloaded from our website.

Are the activities risk assessed?

All birthday party activities are risk assessed and each country park has site specific risk assessments. Risk assessments can be made available on request.

Do the Activity Rangers hold a first aid qualification?

The Activity Ranger leading your party will hold a current DBS check and first aid qualification to enable them to deal with minor injuries. There are also emergency plans in place to deal with any other incidents.
