Bexley Mencap volunteers with tools at the herb garden

Hall Place Community Garden

Set in the beautiful grounds of Hall Place & Gardens, our Community Herb and Wildlife Garden was once formerly known as the ‘Flora for Fauna Garden. This garden was made possible with the help of a ‘Tesco bags of help’ grant . Many of the herbs and other useful plants previously seen in the ‘Really useful garden’  from the Chelsea flowers show has now populated this area. The majority of the project has been undertaken by volunteers and corporate groups arrange by NWKCP.

The garden is currently managed by a volunteer group from Bexley Mencap.  This charity supports people with learning disabilities and their carers offering advice to children and adults, their parents, carers and the wider community.

The partnership between NWKCP and Bexley Mencap allows the charity to offer an gardening club where everyone can enjoy being outside in the fresh air offering an wide range of health benefits.
